West Coast Record Breaking Attempt

On Thursday 17th June 2021, Avanti and Network Rail teamed up to attempt to break the record for the fastest railway journey between London and Glasgow. Pendolino 390 044 newly named as "Royal Scot" set off to beat the Advanced Passenger Train (APT) time of 3 hours, 52 minutes, 40 seconds. The attempt also celebrated the value of the UK's railway industry whilst showcaing the ease of travelling between the home nations, whilst raising money for the Railway Benefit Fund and Action For Children.
