Proceedings in the Lok Sabha were adjourned for the day moments after the House assembled for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address. Chaos erupted at around 5 pm as Congress MPs entered the well and aisles, raising slogans over the suspension of eight MPs during the ongoing Budget Session. Several women opposition MPs blocked seats in the treasury benches, including the Prime Minister’s seat, and displayed a banner reading “Do what is right.” BJP MP Sandhya Rai, the acting Speaker, then adjourned the House. While exiting Parliament, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra claimed that PM Modi did not come to the House because he was scared, also taking a swipe at Union Minister Nishikant Dubey. Rahul Gandhi said the Prime Minister did not want to face the truth.
