Here is a scoped aircheck of the final (about) three hours of WROZ "Fun 101.3" in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, recorded between 1:58 PM and a bit after 5:00 PM on September 30th, 2021. It was announced in July that Hall Communications, who had owned the station since 1977, after purchasing the then WGAL-FM (along with WGAL 1490, now WLPA), would be selling WROZ off to Educational Media Foundation to most likely join K-Love (Their former signal, WKHL 92.1 in Palmyra, barely reached Lancaster and missed York I believe, so their signal would be able to reach the entire state capital area. I lived in the Lancaster area for most of my life before moving west to the DuBois-Clearfield area just under a year ago. While WROZ wasn't my most listened to station throughout my time there (My listening usually went to Harrisburg and York area stations) they were never a bad station, and have spent the last 30 years in some form of an Adult Contemporary format (First a more soft rock centric format as "101 The Rose", before going more up tempo with the switch to Fun in 2015) and I've always quite enjoyed WROZ when I listened to it. Of course WROZ has a local legacy spanning 74 years since it's first sign on in 1947. And it's a shame to see another legend fall to become just another K-Love station. However, everything happens for a reason, and in the ever-changing world of radio, change happens often. (Note that sister station WLPA, which is just about to celebrate 100 years on the air next year, is in the process of being sold to Forever Media along with simulcast partner WONN-FM, and will join their York cluster upon the sale's closure, (Update, the sale closed last week. WLPA and it's translator W223CH 92.5 now simulcast Classic Rock formatted WYCR "Rocky 98.5" in York. Meanwhile, WONN broke off and became its own station, picking up a CHR format as "Nu 92.7")) DJ's: Ronnie Ramone (also the station program director, regularly hosted 2-7pm) Dennis Mitchell (mornings 6-10am, plus Noon-2pm) Michelle Cruz (mornings 6-10am, plus 10am-Noon) Vince Knight (weeknights 7pm-Midnight) This recording spans from the legal identification at 1:58 PM until the last words, final song, and final ID before the station goes silent. Most songs are clipped with the exception of the final song, These Are Days by 10,000 Maniacs. I did have to make an edit to cut the audio of a song from The Beatles due to a worldwide block, so that explains the muted audio from 1:18:59-1:19:20. I also included the final two commercial breaks.
