Kendal - 01539 816800 Ford’s new Nugget has arrived, based on the new Transit Custom, an award-winning much improved van! Westfalia; the German campervan brand, kits out the Custom to transform it into the Nugget. From launch SWB diesel models are available, with LWB and PHEV models on the way. The Nugget is based on the Titanium Custom Tourneo, an Active variant will also follow. Updates have been made both to the campervan aspect such as an easier folding roof (which I still found too difficult to shut), different materials, a hot water shower as standard & more. On the van side, the new Custom vs the old Custom, brings changes like being lower; making it easier to park in multi story car parks etc. Ford’s Sync4 system with the 13” infotainment display & more of a focus on electrification; with PHEV variants and the fully electric E-Custom now on Ford’s PRO range. The Nugget has 5 belted seats, something which sets it apart from many other campers. The rear kitchen layout is also unique and allows more of a separation so everyone has their own space, this means people can still relax in the living area, whilst meals are being prepared! Westfalia have done a great job with the fit and finish of the Nugget, it would’ve been nice to see some more fun materials etc, but it feels very familiar to Ford & is a blank canvas which could easily be made a home from home on wheels.
