E98 8R Prototype at National Commodity Classic

Homegrown Horsepower! It was exciting to see the new prototype for the John Deere 8R E98 tractor unveiled last week at National Commodity Classic in San Antonio. KCGA Vice President, Brett Grauerholz serves on the NCGA Biofuels Action Team that has been partnering with John Deere on this initiative. He took time during the trade show to interview Josh Garetson, John Deere’s Director of Renewable Fuel & Crop Strategy about the tractor and what this innovation means for the future. The prototype delivers diesel-like performance without DEF, showing what’s possible when ag innovation is driven by farmers and fueled by corn. This collaboration between John Deere and the National Corn Growers Association is about more than equipment, it’s about creating new demand for ethanol and giving corn farmers another way to use fuel made from the corn they grow to produce the next crop.
