🎮 In this Unity 2D Platformer tutorial (Part 2 of our Enemy series), we’re building on our patrolling enemy by adding the ability for the player to defeat enemies by stomping on them, triggering death effects, dropping collectible items, and most importantly—fixing a common bug where the player takes damage even after a successful stomp! 🔹 What You’ll Learn in Part 2: ✅ How to kill enemies when the player stomps on them ✅ Spawning death effects that auto-destroy after a short delay ✅ Having the enemy drop a collectible item (like a cherry or gem) on death ✅ Adding a pickup delay so items aren’t collected instantly ✅ Using a temporary immunity flag to safely ignore hurtbox triggers after a stomp This tutorial is focused on feedback, polish, and gameplay clarity.
