The Prelude, borrowed from an air of Bernardo Pasquini, opens the work Allegro moderato, followed by The Dove, borrowed from Jacques de Gallot, The Chicken, from Rameau, The Nightingale on a seventeenth English composition, in which one finds an amusing “homage” to Wagner in a quick pastiche of the Forest Murmurs, before the final Cuckoo from a toccata by Pasquini.
