One war criminal who would become a victim of the infamous American executioner John C Woods was Franz Xaver Strasse. He was a local leader inside of the Nazi Party and would 6 months before World War 2 came to an end execute 5 American Airmen who had crash landed in modern-day Czech Republic. Strasse along with two other men seized custody of these prisoners of war, and loaded them on the back of a truck. But then the American Airmen were ordered out and they were then shot by Strasse and another man, and Strasse was said to have personally shot two of the soldiers. For this, he was brought to trial and he was then sentenced to death and inside of Landsberg Prison, Strasse would be taken to the gallows where John C Woods was waiting for him.
