Today, Sunday February 8th, 2026, marks the opening day of the Toronto Transit Commission's Eglinton Crosstown LRT, a long-awaited light rail line 15 years in the making thanks to numerous delays and setbacks. The LRT vehicles themselves arrived a few years ago and have been in a perpetual state of testing along with sections of the line for some time. These two clips were taken back in the summer of 2025 between Sloane and O'Connor stations while pairs of these vehicles were being tested at least 6 days a week, running from one end of the line to the other. Note the banners for "Be aware! Train testing is in progress." Outline: 0:00 – Pair #6253-#6239 traveling eastbound between Bermondsey Road (Sloane Station) and Victoria Park Avenue during the daytime. The destination sign is signed Ionview despite there being no crossover present at Ionview Road. 01:10 – Pair #6260-#6233 traveling along the same stretch but at night. The destination sign reads Cedarvale, formerly Eglinton West Station. To prevent banding on the Flexity Freedom vehicles’ destination signs whose frequency is 50 Hz, these videos were taken at a fixed shutter speed of 1/100.
