Thanks to pearlmuth3 for sending me this excellent Met Record Club recording of Andrea Chenier with Richard Tucker in the title role. No long commentary on this one...decide for yourselves. I will say that in my opinion no one sings this aria better, not even Corelli, the other great Chenier. Note I said THIS ARIA, which does not pertain to this role as a whole. Photos are of Tucker and his family, wife Sara and sons Barry, David and Henry. I'd also like to take the time to apologize for not being so active in uploading for the past several months...this is due to several factors. I am quite busy for much of the year and have some time off during Christmas and other major holidays for recreation. I am also rather slow and do not understand how to work the new uploading system very well. My internet connection stinks and sometimes I am unable to pick up my own wireless! There was a time when I had to cancel my wireless entirely and 'borrow' the signal from a neighbor...haha. In addition, I am rather lazy and procrastinate a lot. It's been a little over a year since I joined youtube...I've learned a lot about many things since then...especially one very important thing: your attitude on the internet shows your true personality. I've met many assholes over the course of this year, and I've also met many great people whom I respect very much. It is those who are courteous on the internet that are truly good people. In any case, I'd like to thank all of you for appreciating my efforts and I especially want to acknowledge each one of my 325 subscribers (as of today). I really don't deserve that many! Youtube, with all its flaws, is still an excellent site and I am very grateful for it. I find recordings on here that I have never heard almost every single day.
