The book of Job explores the problem of evil, specifically why bad things happen to good people, with Job being a good man who suffers despite his innocence. Job maintains his integrity and faith in God throughout his suffering, but God accuses him of striking a wrong tone when he curses the day of his birth and questions God's judgment. God's response to Job is to assert his power and wisdom, telling Job to trust him and not question his ways, and ultimately, Job repents and acknowledges God's sovereignty. God permits suffering, and through it, he can bring about transformation and use it for his purposes, ultimately proving his love. The ultimate example of this is Christ's sacrifice on the cross, where he suffered and descended into hell, showing that God can break suffering and evil from within. Suffering can be meaningful and not meaningless, as God can bring good even out of evil, and this is evident in the story of Job and the crucifixion of Jesus #catholic #christian #liberalarts #education #highschool #classroom #teacher #studentlife #lesson Recorded at Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee, NH.
