UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography works to understand and protect the planet, and investigate our oceans, Earth, and atmosphere to find solutions to our greatest environmental challenges. Scripps Oceanography leads research in climate change, resilience to hazards, conservation and biodiversity, oceans and human health, and in developing innovative technology to observe the planet. We are training the next generation of scientific and environmental leaders through our education programs, which include opportunities to conduct hands-on research in the field and aboard our scientific research vessels. Scripps Oceanography also operates and maintains important long-term data programs that take the pulse of our planet, including the iconic Keeling Curve and Argo programs.
