Today I’m excited to show you a truly unique DIY creation — a spring-powered slingshot, where I replaced traditional rubber bands with extension springs. This unconventional mechanical approach will be interesting not only to slingshot enthusiasts but to anyone fascinated by hands-on engineering and experimental physics. Typically, slingshots use elastic bands or rubber tubes, which come with several downsides: they wear out over time, can snap unexpectedly, and often provide inconsistent tension. I decided to try something different — replacing the rubber with metal springs. The result surprised me: consistent pull force, greater durability, and surprisingly powerful shots. The slingshot was made using wood, steel tension springs, and a leather pouch for the projectile. The final product is both functional and visually unique, standing out from standard designs. In the video, I walk you through every step of the build, test the slingshot with different types of projectiles, and share my thoughts on its performance. If you love DIY projects, engineering experiments, or just want to see something out of the ordinary — this video is for you! Leave a like, subscribe to the channel, and share it with friends. More creative inventions are on the way!
