'All Lives Matter' is The Dumbest Counter Slogan

Is it ever appropriate to respond with “All Lives Matter” to a Black Lives Matter issue? Of course not, but don’t tell the white nationalist netizens of Twitter that. All Lives Matter, as a slogan, was a direct response to the social currents that drove the BLM movement over the summer of 2020 and before. People who are protesting the unjust and inhumane treatment of our Black and Brown lads, lasses, and nonconforming masses, chanted BLM to put a spotlight on how the system treats Black Lives as though they’re worthless. It’s not a supremacist statement, it’s a statement for equality.
