Thanks! -Visited in November 2022 -After our trip in Mattamuskeet, we headed directly to the Pungo Unit in Pocosin Lakes Wildlife Refuge -Saw a few turtles at the West Lake Area -Also in the West Lake Area, we stopped at a smaller lake, which was filled with tundra swans! -Then we continued onto the South Lake Road, hiked the Duck Pen Wildlife Trail. Good views of the lake, but no swans up close. All of the swans were on the North Shore of the lake. -Drove back around, noticed that the swans were flying from the small lake we just visited to the fields of grass. -We then walked the North Lake Road "Bear Tunnel" Hike, saw at least 10 bears, including a mother bear and her 2 cubs crossing the trail just 25-50 meters away from us! Also saw a mother with 2 very energetic cubs(who were running in the fields in the distance) -Went back to the West Lake area after bear sightings, some of the swans were still swimming in the lake while most of them were hanging out in the fields Background Music: Reverie by Claude Debussy played by me Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy played by me Le Cygne taken from Pixabay Free Music Library Canon in D remix taken from Pixabay Free Music Library
