Lake District Hiking Wainwrights Jack's Rake Pavey Ark Harrison Stickle Pike O' Stickle. Join me on an exhilarating Lake District hike, tackling the iconic Jack’s Rake, a steep and exposed scramble up the face of Pavey Ark 2,297 ft (700 m). Wainwright described Jack’s Rake as: “A tough proposition… a walk almost anywhere else, a climb here.” This thrilling route offers incredible views over Stickle Tarn and the Langdale Pikes. After conquering Pavey Ark, I continue to Harrison Stickle 2,415 ft (736 m), the highest of the Langdale Pikes. Wainwright called it: “The hub of the wheel of Langdale.” The summit provides breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding fells. From here, I head to Pike O’ Stickle 2,323 ft (708 m), known for its striking conical shape and rich archaeological history. Wainwright noted: “A remarkable peak, a mountain in miniature.” This route combines challenging scrambles, rugged terrain, and rewarding summits.
