Sold-out concerts at Riverbend Music Center and Coney Island can draw crowds of up to 21,000 people -- and even if every one of those concertgoers is riding with three others, theyll need hundreds of cars to get there. That makes for a messy, protracted parking situation, said Cincinnati police Sergeant Eric Franz. When they come out of Exit 72, they usually take about half an hour to forty-five minutes to get out of the highway and into their parking spot, he said. Some of that traffic clog might be because more than 80 percent of people going to concerts take Kellogg Avenue, Franz said. Although there have been some improvements in recent years to make the flow of traffic less headache-inducing, Franz said the best way to dodge a feature-length parking quest is to take alternate routes.
