If you are looking for an adventure when you visit Ventura or Ojai, consider the awesome bike path that runs between the two cities. This path is around 15 miles each way and you can ride it from Ojai all the way to the Ventura Coast. The bike path is beautiful with lots of trees and shade, as well as pull-offs for great views.
