My first self-filmed buck! After 18 sits, I connected with a nice buck. My hunting season was (happily) interupted by my wedding and honeymoon, so I knew my October would be limited. After a good early season, and honeymoon, it was great getting back into the stand after some time. With most of my target bucks vanished, and the pre-rut beginning, I was happy to be chasing some different bucks. A beautiful November 1st morning was exactly what I needed for bucks to be seeking. After rattling in several smaller bucks, I continued rattling and grunting. I knew there were several shooters in the near area. This buck heard the calls, and worked his way right to 20 yards. I made a good shot, but it ultimately missed the second lung. I ended up hitting 1 lung and the liver. I knew he just needed time and made the right move by backing out. I believe he died in less than 2 hours, because when I found him, he was still and dead for a while. I am happy to put my hands on this PA buck and start sweet November off to a great start!.
