We're Olivia and Nathan 👋🏽 Yes it is true, Crazy Horse Memorial and Monument in South Dakota is the largest mountain carving in the world! What makes it special is not just the grandeur of it, but also the Native American history, more specifically of the Lakota Sioux tribe, that's attached to it. Getting to experience the Indian Museum of North America along with the Native American Educational and Cultural Center was also amazing! After visiting Custer State Park last week, it was interesting to hear about the Battle of Little Bighorn (also known as Custer's Last Stand) and the history of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. To learn the story of Chief Henry Standing Bear and sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski's dream to bring this mountain carving to life was truly impressive.
