EA DICE recently released the Battlefield 2042 Development Update for Season 4 giving players a sneak peek at the content coming in the Battle pass, new weapons, new vehicles, skins, and other cosmetics, new maps, and map reworks. One of the map reworks that was mentioned was the Discarded map rework. In my opinion, though this map does have cover, just didn't play well and was fairly large with lots of unnecessary areas.
