In this weeks video we are making the hounds tooth suite from 1942 that was voted on in the community tab. This was such a fun make - and while there were a few new sewing techniques I learned there wasn't really anything scary or stressful. In fact the make and fit went relatively smooth with this lovely suit. Once again I was using second hand fabric I picked up from Art Parts Creative Reuse Center https://www.artpartsboulder.org/ - and boy oh boy did I feel lucky to find this amazing blue and grey hounds tooth fabric for under $10.00! The blue hat I'm wearing is true vintage and I picked it up from an auction on eBay. I'm totally obsessed with eBay auctions - there are so many amazing things to find! At the end of this week as I was preparing to film the reveal photos I happily found that this suit matched a few other pieces I have made over the last few years. As I began pulling things out to make different looks it was exciting and thrilling to find that this suit seemed to be the piece I needed to pull all of these beautiful garments together. I almost want to take a vintage train trip with my husband so I can pack along this lovely capsule wardrobe I've unintentionally created.
