If you are going to fiddle with this guy, I strongly recommend taking all the spikes off his faux wheels and setting them aside. They do include some extras, but you are asking to lose some if you are going to transform it back and forth. Put them back on for display. The path most people are following didn’t sit right with me because it causes too many part collisions. The path I developed avoids all of that. The one thing that would still trip me up going to car mode is you need to make sure the inside of his shin (near the centerline of the car) tucks inside those spikey bits that fold up on his chest piece. Drat. Just realized I forgot to do the “tailpipes” at his hips. Don’t forget to do that. Like I did. It’s pretty much the last thing you do going to robot mode and the first thing you do going to car mode. Support Note: Like what you see? Car to Robot: 0:09 Robot to Car: 1:21 Speed run to Robot: 2:32 Speed run to Car: 2:56 2x Run: 3:20 End credits: 3:43 Production Note: Doing all those spikes on his faux wheels was a real PITA. Viewing Note: If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking. Music: The music is by Ethan Meixsell - www.ethanmeixsell.com Songs: “Collision” and “Run”
