Double V Gallery est heureuse d’inaugurer son nouvel espace à Paris avec "FUGUE", la deuxième exposition personnelle de Caroline Denervaud en France. Vernissage jeudi 20 mai 2021, de 11h à 20h, en présence de l’artiste. ⚲ 37 rue Chapon 75003 Paris - FR © Instant Prod ( Lucas Blanchy & Marc Beyney-Sonier) --- " Il y a dans le mouvement une émotion, simple, communicative, libre, intrinsèque. Mon travail consiste à explorer les possibilités de ce mouvement, le corps devient ce qui initie et guide chaque peinture à son commencement. Dans cette danse, l’accent est porteur d’impulsion : contrôle et lâché-prise, rythmes, répétitions, équilibre et déséquilibre dans un temps donné et sur une surface restreinte - la toile ou le papier - au sol. Ce mouvement est auto-filmé. La trace apparait, créée par la danse, par le corps qui est ici l’instrument, tel un pinceau. Cette trace peut alors rester brute. Souvent, je décide de travailler sur cette « structure ». Arrivent alors les couleurs, bousculant la trace initiale, restructurant les formes et leurs interactions, créant un dialogue. Dans cette recherche artistique, l’intrinsèque devient extrinsèque. Le corps dépose visuellement une émotion ou une intention. La vidéo, la trace et la peinture finale créent une histoire, un poème. Le spectateur est libre d’interpréter, de voyager dans cette proposition, de s’y connecter. Ce travail est une suggestion, une invitation. Loin de l’actualité, ici il est question d’intemporalité, d’un lien commun plus ancien, plus profond, plus simple, universel. Puis il y a eu ce temps (suspendu) et cette obligation à rester là, ne pas bouger. J’ai beaucoup dansé, beaucoup peint. J’ai beaucoup fugué, en imagination, je me suis construite des refuges, des échappatoires, des voyages. En terminant la préparation de cette exposition j’ai remarqué la différence d’énergies entre toutes les peintures. Il y en a des solaires, qui laissent paraitre une joie ; certaines sont floues, d’autres sont plus centrées, plus sourdes. Le contexte a du laisser son empreinte, sa teinte, son ambiguïté. Je ne pensais pas peindre mon époque. Inconsciemment, indirectement, je la peins, car je la vis. My work is about exploring the possibilities of this movement, the body becomes what initiates and guides each painting to its beginning. In this dance, the emphasis is on impulse; control and release, rhythm, repetition, balance and imbalance in a given time and on a limited surface - the canvas or paper - on the floor. This movement is self-filmed. The trace appears, created by the dance, by the body which is here the instrument, like a brush. This trace can then remain raw. I often decide to work on this «structure». Then the colours arrive, shaking up the initial trace, restructuring the forms and their interactions, creating a dialogue. In this artistic research, the intrinsic becomes extrinsic. The body visually deposits an emotion or an intention. The video, the trace and the final painting create a story, a poem. The viewer is free to interpret, to travel through this proposal, to connect with it. This work is a suggestion, an invitation. Far from actuality, here it is a question of timelessness, of an older, deeper, simpler, universal common bond. Then there was this time (suspended) and this obligation to stay there, not to move. I danced a lot, painted a lot. I ran away a lot, in my imagination, I built refuges, escapes, journeys. While finishing the preparation of this exhibition I noticed the difference in energy between all the paintings. Some are sunny, with a hint of joy; some are blurred, others are more focused, more muted. The context must have left its mark, its hue, its ambiguity. I didn’t think I was painting my time.
