The key is nutrient-dense whole foods that support heart health and nitric oxide production—a crucial factor in blood flow and sexual function. This includes whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, and healthy oils. In contrast, refined carbs, sugars, sweets, and fried potato products have no place in a healthful diet. A 2024 systematic review of 14 studies and 27,389 participants also found a strong correlation between ED and diet, with the Mediterranean diet and low-fat diets offering the most protective benefits. This growing body of evidence suggests that dietary changes could be a key factor in ED treatment and prevention.
