But there was a problem—the bus refused to take my bicycle! 🚲❌ 🚔 Police Help & A Long Truck Ride I asked the police for help, and they stopped a long truck for me. 🚛 The driver agreed to take me, so I loaded my bicycle and started the journey. The driver was quiet and didn’t talk much, but after a while, he told me something shocking: 💬 “I’m going to Tibet. You can’t ride here. There are no people, no villages.” He was right! The Tibetan Plateau is vast and empty—no big cities, no shelters, just endless roads through the high-altitude wilderness. 🌄 🚛 A 400km Journey to Lanzhou! I was only planning for an 88 km lift, but the driver suggested I go all the way to Lanzhou (兰州) in Gansu Province, which was 400 km away! At first, I hesitated, but seeing the harsh, remote landscape, I decided to accept his offer. 🚚 12 hours of continuous travel through the Tibetan Plateau. 🏜️ No villages, no big cities—just mountains, grasslands, and pure emptiness. 🏔️ Breathtaking but extreme conditions—truly one of the most isolated roads I’ve ever seen! 🌙 Arriving Near Lanzhou at 1 AM Finally, around 1 AM, we reached near Lanzhou, and the driver continued toward Tibet. I had no place to stay, so I found a garden and quickly set up my tent. 🌿⛺ I was exhausted but amazed at how this day had turned out—from an 88 km plan to a 400 km unexpected journey! 😲
