Working with complex CNC machines can be a daunting task on a good day. Knowing that no two machines seem to ever work the same way just adds to your daily challenge as well. At TopSolid, we understand this completely! It is why we have worked so hard for over 30 years to simplify these types of tasks for you and to attempt to add some predictability into them as well. In this webinar we will focus on one key area of programming complex machines. We call them link movements. They are the movements from tool change to the cut, or from one operation to the next, or from the operation back to tool change. TopSolid has made quick work of these movements with our link movements editor for decades. The next logical evolution would be to help our customer automate these movements base on the rules they (the customer) defines. We call this a Link Movement Rules document. And in this webinar, you will be introduced to how a link movement rules document works. For example, maybe your machine requires you to retract the spindle in a very special way when the B Axis is at 90 degrees and the operation type is Inside Diameter Turning and the tool type is a specific boring bar. In a case like this you can teach TopSolid exactly how to do the retract and then define the rule for when that retract is automatically used. The value here is that none of your users will need to remember how to reproduce that movement ever again saving your company precious time and potential crashes on the machine!
