In today’s video we’re having a brief look at the life and works of Greek Philosopher, Plutarch. Plutarch is most well known for his Parallel Lives where he compares Greek and Roman Leaders. However, he also wrote other stuff such as his Moralia, which is a collection of essays. Fun Fact: Plutarch’s work was also an inspiration for some of Shakespeare’s plays. We’ll also discuss some of the issues ancient writers such as Plutarch faced when it came to compiling the source evidence for their works, and why Plutarch wasn’t really that bothered if his Lives weren’t 100% accurate.
