The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is the most hardcore variant of the Mercedes GLE, a luxury midsize performance SUV. It's a coupe SUV with over 600 hp, which weighs 5,500 lbs. The GLE 63 S is powered 4-liter twin-turbo V8, which makes 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Typically for a modern AMG product, the power is transferred to all wheels via a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission, and since this is a mild-hybrid, there is a 21 hp electric motor that sits between the engine and the transmission, mainly to improve the fuel economy. The torque distribution obviously varies depending on the driving conditions, but it is a rear-biased system with an e-LSD at the rear axle. Now, the AMG variant obviously received bigger brake system with fixed 6-piston front calipers and a floating single piston calipers in the back, so something we see in many performance vehicles. Obviously, carbon ceramics are available and they cost $5,500. The GLE 63 also received a retuned suspension, which just like in the case of other GLEs is a double wishbone construction front and back. But here, Mercedes added adaptive dampers, air springs, and active stabilizers to make this feel as much as a performance car as possible and give you a lot of flexibility - sporty when you want in, comfy when you need it to be.
