This is where there is loss of pregnancy even before the woman can realize that she is pregnant. If it comes positive and she is still bleeding then we need to find out the quality of the pregnancy is good or not. Done by a transvaginal ultrasound where we can make sure whether the pregnancy is there inside or outside the uterus. Suppose the quality of the pregnancy is good and there is only bleeding, then we can support the pregnancy with some hormones, progesterone’s, HCG injections, rest , hemostatic drugs etc and also correct some issues in the mother like thyroid issues, sugar abnormalities, urinary infections, or any other infections which can cause the problem. So if the quality of the pregnancy is not good, then no matter how you try to support the pregnancy, the body will expel out of the body. This is called as early miscarriage. The doctor will determine what type of abortion it is, if it is already partly expelled or the fetal heart beat has stopped or growth is not appropriate or it is an empty sac whether it is just a water bag and no baby inside. So bases on this, the doctor can ask you to wait and watch or can give medicines to fasten the process of abortion, When nothing is given to expel the products, it roughly takes one week to 10 days to complete the process of abortion.
