The Endometriosis Australia Symposium. This is an educational symposium, designed for the public and health practitioners to better understand the debilitating disease that affects 1 in 9 women and those assigned females at birth. This is Endometriosis in conversation and consultation. Our Symposium event takes place over two sessions, the first being our 'In Conversation' Session, featuring a panel of inspiring Endo Warriors, including Hoda Hannaway, Holly Crawford, and Donna Ciccia. Each sharing their experiences and advice, hosted by the amazing Ellie Angel-Mobbs. In this session, Ellie asks the question "What would you tell your younger self?". The second session, the 'In Consultation' portion of the event, is hosted by Endometriosis Australia’s Medical Director and Chair, Prof. Jason Abbott. Featuring an impressive line-up of medical experts, including A/Prof. Anusch Yazdani, Dr Amani Harris, Dr Emma Readman, Dr Danny Chou, and Dr Erin Nesbitt-Hawes. Prof. Abbott leads this panel, as they discuss medical and surgical options for Endo Warriors. In this session, we delve into some hot topics including “Surgery for endometriosis and its extremes. Can it ever be too far?”, covering multiple surgeries; hysterectomy, ultra-radical surgery, and who should be doing the surgery.
