Welcome to the first episode of Talking History Bihar, a five-episode documentary series exploring the ancient history of Bihar—a history deeply intertwined with the history of India. In this episode, we cover the period from the Videha Kingdom (1100 BCE) to the Nanda dynasty (321 BCE). We take a closer look at key kingdoms such as Magadha, Anga, Mithila, and Vajji, along with the Haryanka and Shishunaga Dynasties, and rulers like Bimbisara and Ajatashatru 👑. We’ll also discuss the rise of the Nanda Empire. Created by Sahil Raj, a young documentary filmmaker and cinematographer 🎬, and senior journalist Rajat Kain (formerly of NDTV and Rajya Sabha TV), this series makes Bihar’s rich and complex history accessible and easy to understand. While it is especially helpful for BPSC and UPSC aspirants 📚, it is not just for them—it is for every Indian to celebrate and rediscover the glorious history of ancient India.
