In this video, Catarina Saraiva Fernandes, MD, Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC), Coimbra, Portugal, briefly outlines the findings of an umbrella review investigating early mobilization decision after acute stroke. Dr Fernandes highlights the need to mobilize sooner rather than later to optimize clinical outcomes. Still, she emphasizes that mobilization should not occur in the first 24 hours following the stroke to avoid complications. Early mobilization also reduces the length of hospital stays, benefiting both the patients and the healthcare system.
