DRURY'S VIGIL 21st OCTOBER: This video is about and dedicated to the poor little calf who never made it off the truck 💔 Whether he fell or was pushed, we can't be sure but the brutal way he was treated in his final moments of life is a perfect example of the contempt the workers have for the animals who arrive at slaughterhouses. Many people will try to ease their conscience by attempting to convince themselves that animals are killed humanely in slaughterhouses but the brutal way the calf was killed outside is the exact same process as is done on the inside to the hundreds of other calves we saw that day, except there was no one to bear witness to their brutal deaths. If slaughterhouses had glass walls this is what we'd all see! Nothing humane happens in a slaughterhouse. It's a business, a business of making money from the killing of sentient beings who do not want to die! The video contains upsetting content but it's important that it's seen and shared as widely as possible. This is the reality of the dairy industry where thousands of calves are slaughtered each year simply because they were born male and of no use to dairy farmers. We heard them say there was another calf in the truck who was also injured, you can clearly hear a worker say to leave him in the truck and take him away. Probably because they knew we were filming, we will never know what happened, or how long he was left suffering. Please excuse our shouting and expletives after the killing of the calf. This was borne from the emotional stress of what we were witnessing. The day was one of sheer brutality from start to finish. While we were there last Thursday we witnessed hundreds of tiny male calves being taken into that hellhole... there is more footage to follow, stay tuned.
