Take the Calmac ferry across the notorious waters of The Minch and the Sea of the Hebrides from Lochboisdale on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides to the port of Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland. This 3.5 hour journey takes you past the Small Isles (Rum, Eigg, Muck and Canna), the south coast of the Isle of Skye, and the brooding mountains of Knoydart. On this voyage, filmed in May 2019, I had the good fortune of calm waters and sunshine. The crossing can be a lot more dramatic!
