We woke up to a chilly wet morning next to Thundering Brook Falls. Then we pushed on to Kent Pond just outside of Killington Mountain, where we experienced our first bear encounter as it snuck up only 20 feet behind us through the bushes! We decided to get into the town of Rutland before hitting the mountain and stayed at the Yellow Deli hostel. We had heard of this very famous hostel through the grapevine and the ways of their 'cult'ure. It was actually a very pleasant stay and we learned a lot about their way of life.
