WATCH IN HD! Campaign maps are always a treat in SWBF2, there are tons of mods and maps out there but very few every include an engaging and fun campaign mode alongside them. Even rarer is an entire map pack complete of such maps, with only the likes of Dark Times II and the Aldura Campaign attempting such a feature. What Lorul1 brings us here today is an incredible entry into that category. This is the BRAND NEW Battles of the Storm map pack by Lorul1 which offers 5 all-new Campaign maps telling the story of his fanon Clone legion, the Storm Squadron 70. Not only does the map pack offer 5 all new maps, it also adds tons of new features including new units for both CIS and Republic including new playable Jedi, pilot vehicles during ground battles, first person vehicle cockpits, multi-storey buildings which make use of a fantastically innovative elevator system, some brilliant scheduled animations and flybys during battle and finally, moving and fully destructible capital ships in space battles. Wow, that's a lot of content. The gameplay also features the popular over-the-shoulder viewpoint as seen in the Clone Wars Era Mod BETA. This is the first map in the pack, Geonosis: Zero Battle which tells the story that Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has dispatched the Clone Troopers of Storm Squadron 70 to retrieve the valuable cortosis mineral from a cortosis mine called 'Zero' on Geonosis. When playing as the Republic, you will receive objectives from Squad Intelligence to fulfill the mission and retrieve the cortosis and destroy Zero's communication facilities to prevent CIS reinforcements from being dispatched. The map is a vast open battlefield complete with reskinned buildings from the stock maps to create a whole new environment. The map also features Republic and Separatist capital ships flying over the ground battle as well as scheduled, fully animated AT-TE drop offs via LAAT/carriers just like Attack of the Clones. Whilst the majority of the confrontation occurs on the battlefield, the objectives will lead the player into the Zero facility itself positioned upon the rocky mountains of Geonosis. The facility is composed of several floors linked by elevators that teleport the player to the next floor and house CIS command posts in the long winding corridors and control rooms. Despite using plenty of stock assets and props, the facility offers an incredible new environment and the seamless transition between floors is outstanding. Both CIS and Republic sides have been revamped, the Republic are now complete with new skins and units forming up Storm Squadron 70. New units include Clone Assassins, Wookiee Allies, Jedi Padawans, Jedi Knights and Clone Commander Lorul. The Commander is armed with new weapons including the Thermal Rifle 2.1 and DC-15S Republic Commando Pistol. The CIS also features new units including B1 Battle Droids, an Electrostaff wielding IG-100 MagnaGuard unit and Geonosian Warriors. All in all, this is a fantastic map pack and features some ground-breaking new features that warrant a download alone. Go ahead and check it out now! Note: All mods are for PC only!
