LAPD Patrol Car Collides With Civilian Vehicle During Code-3 Response

(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Los Angeles, California — On June 23, 2024, at around 5:55 p.m., Los Angeles Police Officers responded to a radio call of a male armed with a knife in the area of Adams Boulevard and Saint James Place. When the officers arrived to the area of the call, they determined that immediate assistance was required, prompting a “help call” to detain the armed suspect. While responding to this help call with lights and sirens activated (Code-3), a patrol unit was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Gramercy Place. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the driver of the Corolla, to a local hospital to be treated for the critical injuries he sustained, as a result of the traffic crash. While there, medical staff placed him in a medically induced coma and he's expected to survive. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Regino Orea Jr..
