*Update JANUARY 2025, the Silverstreet Thunderbolt 1003 was moved to the county's storage, apparently the reinstallation project fell through. Unfortunately, the county has currently no plans for the Silverstreet Thunderbolt to be reinstalled. Previous update from 2024: The Silverstreet 1003 had went through refurbishment process, it was just finished. But unfortunately, this siren still hasn't been reinstalled and there is currently no estimated date for this siren to be reinstalled. It was originally anticipated to be reinstalled back spring 2024. Previous update from 2023: This siren was removed and was taken to the repair shop for repairs to the siren. The chopper motor is dead. County plans to reinstall this siren by spring 2024. I repeat, this siren will be reinstalled next year. Recorded on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021. This is a weekly fire/tornado siren test of the Newberry County Fire/Tornado Siren System. This siren was tested every Saturday at noon (now tested at the last Saturday of every month at noon). This siren was FIXED! I thought I was never gonna hear this siren in hi-lo anymore. Thanks to firefighters, emergency management, and siren maintenance for making this repair happen! Solenoid was fixed about a month ago. I tried to record this siren a month ago and siren failed due to radio failure. I also met up with SouthCarolinaSirens for this and he took a drone video for me. This siren is located in Silverstreet, SC at Silverstreet VFD.
