Intamin Straddle Monorail P8 Xi'an - Day and Night Attraction

Xi’an is the capital of the Shaanxi province and one of the oldest cities in China, with more than 3,100 years of history. The city is known for the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. Xi'an is the eastern terminus of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army. Since the 1990s Xi’an has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and China's space exploration program. It's now one of the most populous metropolitan areas in inland China with more than 8 million inhabitants. It owns an Intamin P8 monorail system which connects the center of the city with the famous sight-seeing places like the home of the Terracotta Army and stops at several tourist attractions located around the perimeter of two connected lakes. The monorail system with a total track length of approximately 9.6 km provides transport within the Qujiang district at Xi’an. Three trains P8/48 with a maximum capacity of 48 seated passengers each serve altogether eleven stations. The Intamin monorail type P8 is a modern and attractive system for transportation and sightseeing in cities and tourist centers. The passenger compartments are fully air-conditioned, and for an enhanced comfort, all passengers have a seat and can enjoy a silent and smooth ride while enjoying a great view on the historical sites through large windows. Being very attractive in daytime the city has one more highlight during nighttime. A big number of monuments are illuminated all night long. The monorail connecting the various places emerged as the new attraction for visitors since they can ride during nighttime for sightseeing.
