Porsche 911 Singer MLHLND x2 on Mulholland Highway "In 2018 Singer Vehicle Design completed the re-imagination of a 1991 Porsche 964 that came to be called "Mulholland". This was in tribute to the epic Mulholland Highway that runs through the Santa Monica Mountains North of Los Angeles, California. After many years spent abroad the car is now back in search of a buddy. After much hunting throughout the canyons of those mountains and other promising places in the greater LA area a suitable mate was found. Completed in 2024 by Singer Vehicle Design in the UK, meet the Mulholland DLS (Dynamics and Lightweighting Study) and enjoy the two cars set free ripping the Canyons of the Mulholland Highway. But it’s not miles-per-hour that is the focus – but rather Smiles-Per-Mile. The livery of the two cars was the idea of Rob Dickinson - the founder of Singer - during early discussions on how to do something unique and playful apart from the dark blue paint. It is a topographic map of a section of the Mulholland Highway. That road is a favourite among many of the atotomotive enthusiasts of the area. Many of the other details of both cars were taken from some great classic Porsches - both street cars and racers. Apart from that the idea was to make them as light as possible and to delete anything not "necessary", as lightness has always been a hallmark of Porsche. ”The unbearable lightness of being … a Porsche” to play with the words of Milan Kundera. Both cars stand as a tribute to the genius of Porsche and the dedicated people of that company and the wonderful motorcars they create for us. They also represent the creativity and single-minded approach to improve on the greatness of the Porsche 964 model of Singer Vehicle Design.
