ATX 3.0 and 3.1 introduced a new cable: 12vhpwr (and also 12vh-2x6, although this is a connector change, not a cable change). And unfortunately the way that these cables 'work' can get VERY confusing. For example if you have a modern ATX 3.1 Corsair PSU that has a 12vhpwr to 12vhpwr cable, can you 'reverse' that cable? I.e. does it matter which end goes into the PSU, and which end goes into the GPU? How about if you have an older Corsair PSU that has 2x8-pin that goes into the PSU, and 12vhpwr that goes into the GPU? OR what about a type 5 Corsair cable that has 12vhpwr into the PSU, and 2x-8pin for your GPU? It's complicated, so I clear up all this confusion in this video. 0:00 Corsair 12vhpwr and 8-pin 0:35 The Short Answer: 12vhpwr to 12vhpwr 0:53 Older Corsair PSUs With 2x 8-pins 1:48 Even More Confusion 2:38 TL;DW Recap ~~~~~~ Credits ~~~~~~ Thanks to the following resources (sounds, images etc): "Pop-up Sound" by BeezleFM (Freesound -- License: Attribution 4.0) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #PCBuild #PSU #Corsair
