Welcome back to History with Seb! This video is about the Philippine-American War from February 4, 1899 to July 2, 1902. The Philippine-American War, fought between 1899 and 1902, arose in the aftermath of the Spanish-American War, when the United States acquired the Philippines from Spain. Filipino nationalists, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, who had already been fighting for independence from Spanish rule, resisted American colonization. The conflict was characterized by guerrilla warfare and brutal suppression tactics. While the U.S. declared victory in 1902, sporadic resistance continued for several years.
