My internet had a temporary heart attack about 1/3 of the way through the run, so this is the offline-recorded version--the twitch recording is in pieces. That's the only reason I'm uploading this to YT. Comments on the stream/presentation: Livestreamed at twitch.tv/bob_loblaw_law on April 6th. My first stream back after a 3-month break, so a lot of the OBS settings were off (I had to reinstall it from scratch). Also, sorry about the low quality, but YT kept crapping its pants when I tried to upload anything higher. In the future, I'll keep my mic muted when I'm not talking. That way you won't have to hear my breathing the whole time. Comments on the run: Five minutes of mistakes before harp. Another 6 minutes from harp to boss rush. Another five minutes from boss rush to the end. Boss rush RNG = average, maybe very slightly worse than average due to getting imp2 instead of imp1. Failed FFI once (though, as Indy correctly pointed out to me, it wasn't beyond recovery until I intentionally aborted the attempt...::sigh::). Will be going for sub-8:50 at some point. Once I get there, I'll decide if I want to keep trying for better times, though I suspect that I will. This video is significant for two reasons. First, this is the first sub-9 run of this category by anyone other than indykenobi. Second, this is, at present, the only publicly available video of a run with the new route. Indy holds the current world record at 8:46:55, but there is no public video, plus that run used the old route. His previous world record of 8:53:13 can be found at / 2213417 but it also used the old route. [Edit: Indy has since broken the record with a route more updated than the one used in this run. For the most current data, please see http://zeldaspeedruns.com/leaderboard... ] New route most likely saves between one and two minutes. Credit for making and assembling both new and old routes, goes to indy, without whom this category would just suck and probably wouldn't even exist.
