Hi everyone, Join Lilian and I on an unforgettable 5-day journey through Xi’an – the ancient capital of 13 Chinese dynasties, home of the Terracotta Warriors, and a vibrant mix of history, culture, and delicious food! Start 0:00 ✨ DAY 1 – A Grand Welcome to Xi’an 03:51 We kick off our trip with a visit to the Drum Tower before diving into a dumpling feast for lunch – a true Xi’an specialty! Next up is the majestic Bell Tower, followed by an evening stroll through the dazzling 大唐不夜城 (Great Tang All Day Mall), where we enjoy a hearty dinner of iconic Biang Biang noodles. ⛪ DAY 2 – Culture, Faith & Flavours 06:03 We begin our day at the peaceful Xi’an Catholic Church, before wandering the bustling Muslim Quarter and the tranquil Great Mosque of Xi’an (西安清真大寺). Lunch is at a local favorite – 唐猫小吃荟. In the afternoon, we explore Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (大雁塔) and Da Ci’en Temple (大慈恩寺). Dinner ends with a comforting hotpot experience at Haidilao. 🏯 DAY 3 – Eastern Route: From Palaces to Warriors 07:58 We embark on an Eastern Route day tour booked via Klook, starting at the scenic Li Shan, a mountain known for its imperial views. We visit the elegant Huaqing Palace (华清池) before heading to the Site of the Xi’an Incident, where history comes alive through bullet holes, bunkers, and a spectacular musical performance that reenacts this pivotal moment in Chinese history. In Lintong, we step into the world of the Terracotta Warriors, enriched by our guide’s storytelling and a stunning VR experience of the unopened Emperor’s Mausoleum. After an awe-inspiring visit, we return to Xi’an for a delicious Taiwanese hotpot dinner at Cou Cou, followed by the mesmerizing fountain light show at 大雁塔喷泉广场. 🛕 DAY 4 – Western Route: Emperors & Relics 12:49 On the Western Route tour, we visit 茂陵, the resting place of Emperor Wu of Han. Then it’s on to Famen Temple (法门寺), famous for housing a relic believed to be Buddha’s finger bone. After a tranquil vegetarian lunch at the temple, we explore Prince Yi De’s Tomb and finish at the grand Qianling Mausoleum (乾陵), the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu Zetian, China’s only female emperor. Dinner back in the city features the iconic Xi’an dish 羊肉泡馍. 🏛️ DAY 5 – A Historical Finale 17:53 Our last day focuses on Xi’an’s rich museum culture. We start at the Shaanxi History Museum, then explore ancient inscriptions at the Xi’an Beilin Museum (Stele Forest).
