2 MINS AGO! Starmer SPEECHLESS As Furious Host Eamonn Holmes KICKS OUT Labour MP In Fiery Clash

Eamonn kicks things off with a perfectly reasonable question. How are you viewing the Budget and what are you hoping it will do? Simple, straightforward, the kind of softball opener that politicians normally love because it lets them trot out their prepared talking points. But before Jones even gets to answer the actual question, he starts with the classic politician's deflection. He says he can't reveal what the Chancellor has put in the Budget. Which is fine, except nobody asked him to. Eamonn literally just asked what he's hoping the Budget will achieve. That's an opinion question, not a leak-the-contents-of-the-Budget question. Eamonn, clearly already at the end of his tether, immediately jumps in. No, I didn't ask you that. You can hear the frustration building already. Jones tries to keep going with whatever script he's memorized, but Eamonn's having none of it. He cuts him off mid-flow. Can I stop you there, Darren? And then comes the line that's been bouncing around social media ever since. I'm fed up of leaked stories coming from your end about what is in the Budget and the Chancellor going on and releasing a YouTube video last night telling us more and more. Absolute scenes. This is a man who's done thousands of interviews over his career, and you can tell he's reached his limit with political nonsense. He goes on, and this is where it gets really good. All this business, you can't speculate, as if we asked you. I didn't ask you, number one. Number two is you're telling us anyway. It's been leaked, leaked, leaked, leaked, leaked. That's five leaks for anyone counting. Eamonn's basically calling out the entire charade of Budget secrecy. For weeks leading up to a Budget, government ministers and their special advisors brief journalists about what's coming. They leak bits and pieces to test public reaction, to manage expectations, to control the narrative. And then when they get on telly, they do this whole performance of oh I couldn't possibly comment, it's Budget day, everything's top secret. It's theater, and everyone knows it's theater, but politicians keep doing it because that's the game. Except Eamonn's decided he's done playing the game. Darren Jones, to his credit, doesn't completely crumble. He acknowledges there have been a couple of leaks which have been totally unacceptable and not very helpful. A couple of leaks. That's adorable. Try a couple dozen. The entire Budget has been drip-fed to the media over the past two weeks. We know about the fuel duty freeze or lack thereof, we know about the sugar tax, we know about employer national insurance hikes, we know about non-dom tax changes. At this point, Rachel Reeves could just send out a press release instead of bothering with the whole Commons speech thing. But Jones tries to deflect by saying there's been plenty of speculation from the media and commentators. Which is true, but the speculation's based on briefings from government sources, so it's a bit rich to blame the media for reporting what the government's telling them.#uk politics, #uk politique, #uk parliament, #uk news, #house of commons, #prime minister, #keir starmer, #Rachel reeves, #Nigel Farage, #labour Party, #reform, #conservative party, #kemi badenoch, #ed Miliband, #house Speaker, #MPQs, #sky news, #uk express
