Appenzell is a village of Switzerland located in the Innerrhoden Canton, the smallest of the Swiss Cantons. As a rural village, the folk of Appenzell have established many special traditions like a celebration in honor of the cows descent from the mountains each autumn, folk music, and festive dance. Cars are not allowed in the old part of the town, adding to its pastoral nature. There is plenty quaint streets and plenty of adorable little shops to browse. Even the buildings are a sight to see as many of them feature beautiful frescoes. A few additional attractions of this region include Säntis mountain, which boasts an expansive view including 6 different countries, a local castle, Weigelhütte Art Gallery, Wildkrchli cave chapel, and Hoher Kasten, a lookout with beautiful panoramic sights.
