The 18th of November, 1958. The former Queen of the Lakes the SS Carl D. Bradley steamed from Gary Indiana and up the Wisconsin coast through Lake Michigan. Only a few short hours later she would be lost to the lake, taking all but two of her crew with her. But the true tragedy was just how close she was to being saved from her watery fate.
