Barbriallen - Traditional Scottish/English/North American folk song

Thought to originate in Scotland (as "Barbara Allen") this is one of those songs that has had a long and interesting life of its own traveling all over the English speaking world. There are records of some semblance of it being sung in the 17th century but it probably goes back even further in some form or another. I first heard it sung by Simon and Garfunkel when it was included as a bonus track on the 2001 edition of their 1966 album "Sounds of Silence" and that is the version I've used for the lyrics here. This version was recorded April 2020 in Calderdale, England.
