The Operating Theatre has dramatically changed: Minimally invasive surgery means that more equipment has to be present in the room, with complex audio-video solutions required, additional to Medical IT, UPS, gases, specialised carts etc. Multiple hanging Monitors, medical video routers, endoscopy equipment, orthopaedic implant trays etc have now to find their place on medical pendants shelves, without becoming a hindrance around the operating theatre and allow for large equipment such as C-Arm X-Ray Systems. Accelerating recovery times in ICU via human centred and family inclusive equipment design is in the best interest of the patient and it is our focus for the innovations which we will present. But we have to outline the fact that faster recovery times in ICU means increasing operating theatres throughput.
